Following a sell-out show in 2021, the Pride Gala returns in 2022 in the historic Auckland Town Hall to bring you an incredible lineup of the finest queer artistry in Tāmaki Makaurau hosted by Billy T Award nominee Janaye Henry and Pasifika performance powerhouse Paul Fagamalo!
Honouring our collective Pride whakapapa and the importance of our intergenerational relationships, Under the direction of our newly appointed Creative Director Elyssia Wilson-Heti. The Auckland Pride Gala will take the community on a journey of reflection and celebration of Whakapapa over the past 50 years and beyond of Pride in Tāmaki Makaurau.
The incredible display of queer excellence will include a number from GALS Choir, Ballroom showcases from COVEN-Aucoin & The House of Givenchy, previews of cirque show Carnies & Queers, and spoken word show Dirty Passports, a song and poem from Blaise Clotworthy and Stef Knight, as well as pieces from Tongan dancer Mosi Lata Webster, the incredible Tangaroa Paul, and performer & vocalist Brady Peeti! We have a couple of more acts to be announced, so stay tuned!
Commissioned work and festival programme tasters, the Pride Gala has everything to kick off the 2022 Auckland Pride Festival with a bang of queer excellence. Debuting at the historic Auckland Town Hall, grab a table with your friends, nab a seat down the back, or sit up in the circle to catch all of the incredible performances our queer artists have to offer.
