Auckland Pride Team

The Auckland Pride Festival Team is led by Executive Director, Max Tweedie. The Executive Director is responsible for the delivery of the annual Festival, and the day-to-day running of the organisation.

He is joined by Creative Director Elyssia Wilson-Heti who leads Auckland Pride’s creative vision, directs and programmes the Pride Gala & Party, along with realising our vision of becoming the home for queer arts in Tāmaki Makaurau.

They are accountable to the board of the Auckland Pride Festival and meet regularly to ensure the Festival and wider Organisation continues to be guided by the membership and wider community.

Max & Elyssia are joined by team members Hāmiora Bailey, Kaiwhakahaere Takatāpui, Victoria Walsh, Major Events Producer, and Alex Marris, Festival Coordinator. Hāmiora is responsible for the delivery of key events for Māori and expanding opportunities for Takatāpui during Pride. Victoria is responsible for the delivery of the Auckland Pride March and Pride Party. Alex is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the independent events within the Festival.
